It is time to sack Jake Lynch

Section 16(1)(b) of the University of Sydney Act 1989 (NSW) states that the Senate of the University has the power to
appoint and terminate the appointment of academic and other staff of the University
The Head of the University’s Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, Associate Professor Jake Lynch, is at the centre of Australia’s BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement which aims to destroy the State of Israel and act as racist elements against Jewish people around the world.
Most recently, Lynch tried to prevent the distinguished scholar, Dan Avnon from taking up a fellowship at the University.
Lynch’s behaviour is outrageous and is entirely against the principles of the University enshrined in its Act to promote free expression and debate.
It is time for him to be sacked from the University. The Senate has the power and now has the responsibility to remove this cancer from the University.
Here is a list of the current Fellows of the Senate who can dismiss Lynch from the University. I wonder if any of the Fellows are also activists in the BDS movement? Perhaps bandana man?
PS: I know that the Australian Senate has extremists that advocate BDS too like Lee Rhiannon. But the voters need to sack her and the other extremists in Parliament.

    Any university harbouring a BDS movement should be defunded or somehow disciplined until they return to being a place of learning rather than a nest of leftist scum.

    Israeli PM Netanyahu made mention of the immoral BDS movement during a speech he delivered to AIPAC.
    AGAIN … Judenhass is on the rise. This time it seems cultivated and nurtured within the hallowed halls of academia. It would seem universities have become anti-Semetic Petri dishes filled with racist scum. Between Lynch and a neo-Nazi thug the only point of difference would be haircut.

    ANTI-SEMITISM has raised its head at another of the country’s most prestigious tertiary institutions, with racist graffiti appearing at the University of Adelaide.
    A campus sign was vandalised with a crudely drawn Star of David containing the number “666″ and the words “No Jew world order”.
    The above report is from The Australian this morning. Certain types take in and approve Lynch’s views and take them to the next step.

    And of course another Senior SydU Figure was the organiser of a “day of hate” against a public servant. (Funny – if you disagree with the IPA then Tim is fair game. But you can’t organise mass protests to bully Lee Rhiannon, even if you disagree with her views.)
    But what’s this grub to make NOW the time to get rid of him? The use of BDS in a blatantly unlawful manner last year was the time. What line has he crossed today?

    The leftards will always hate this jewel of democracy standing alone in an angry sea of aggression and hatred. The fact that this BDS hate movement has any traction at universities illustrates the difference between the words academic and intelligence. Plus the fact there is a tide of Arab cash floating around many of the world’s institutions. It would save a lot of time and trouble if the Muslim countries, and their offshoots such as BDS would realize now that Israel will jnever be defeated.

    I will write to the council today, this would be a good thing to spread via social media for the slacktivists to get on board with. What a jerk. I work with Israelis, Iraqis, Lebanese, Iranian academics frequently and it wouldn’t occur to any of us to worry about the fact.

    I am unsure about this claim as it is so circumstancial, but it does note how dangerous & toxic totalitarians like Lynch have made university campuses through their continual “hate speech” about Israel:
    The newly re-formed Jewish Students’ Society at the Australian National University (ANU) confronted significant abuse during the Market Day clubs and societies event.
    A paper airplane was thrown at the Jewish Students’ Society stall. On one side the paper contained a Socialist Alternative petition, and on the other the message: ‘Death to the Zionist entity. Love from Hamas’. This note supports Hamas, a proscribed terrorist organisation, in their anti-Semitic violent aims to kill all Jews. Moreover, following various refusals to take pamphlets by Jewish students on the day, extremists responded ‘that’d be right, Israeli bitch’, and ‘filthy Jew’.

    I doubt the senate disagrees with the University’s BDS movement so little wonder Lynch is still there. Why would they sack him? It’s not like the institution is there to educate, that mission died with the influx of leftists in academia.

    If we had our own version of GetUp! a publicised and organised boycott of Sydney Uni (exposed Internationally as a “Nazi-harbouring institution”) and he would be out of there by the end of the week. Money talks, especially International students money.

    I’m always fascinated by the apparent willingness of the BDS movemant, and others on the supposedly “intellectual” left, to contemplate nuclear war in the Middle east.
    Put together these elements from Jewish history:
    Masada: death before surrender to an unspeakable fate under a ruthless foe: and
    the Holocaust: never again to go quietly to the gas chambers.
    Add in the near certainty that Israel possesses a substantial number of nuclear weapons, with a variety delivery systems (both aircraft and missiles), and pushing for Israel to be isolated and defeated seems a particularly stupid policy.

    Concerted formal protests by individuals and by Jewish organisations about clear expressions of anti-Semitism on campus, protests directed to the key office holders (Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Head of Academic Board), will at least make these office-holders think twice about their ensuing reputations. They hold the power. In my experience (I have had some) these people are usually extremely vain about how they are perceived in legacy (and in much else).

    I used to be a firm supporter of Israel, it is hard not to be when they are faced with the likes of Hamas, the Hezzies and other assorted crazies of the type you often encounter in Broadmeadows these days.
    But I find it hard to summon enthusiasm for even so worthy a cause as humiliating a far-left wing Academic after the Australian Diaspora communities response to even the slightest tinkering with the anti-free speech laws.
    A highly influential community whose “community leaders” lobby against free speech [with no public contrary voices] should get a far less sympathy for its pet cause on the other side of the world than it currently does.
    It looks as though 18C, 18D and all their little state based friends are here to stay at least partly because of one community playing the Holocaust card.
    Scream, shout and ad-hom all you like, but no community is above reproach in the fight to regain free speech, so please excuse my bitter disappointment.
    It’s a quid pro quo thing, I still support the right of Israel to exist, but if you want enthusiasm stop screwing around on issues far more important to me here at home.

    While I disagree strongly with the position adopted by Jewish organisations in Australia on the subject of free speech you do need to understand why they are adopting this line – its because too often they know that Jewish people are the subject of hate speech and want it stopped. I do not for a moment disagree with this objective.
    I just happen to disagree with those who argue that legal sanctions against free speech that offends people is the best way of achieving it. After all, those laws can be used to suppress Jewish opposition to the haters as much as they can be used to suppress those who voice their hatred of Jews. In fact as I see it, the laws are very much a two edged sword. Hamas and other violent, murderous and terrististic groups are not likely to take notice of laws that supposedly prevent them from speaking, giving voice to their hatred. But they will be quick to use the laws themselves to take action against Jews trying to defend themselves from that hate.
    Even now its hard enough – every time someone speaks up aginst Islamic extremism they are accused of being islamophobic and the left gives out ahue and cry calling for them to be punished or silenced. Somehow islmophobia is supposed to be a bad thing – considering the violence committed by islamic believers there is plenty to be phobic about.

    To be fair, I don’t think that guy was ‘senior’. iIIRC, he was ‘disability co-ordinator’ for one of the faculties. Syndey U may be different, but those sorts of admin/HR jobs in tertiary institutions are generally lower level and (relatively) poorly paid.
    On the other hand, people in these sorts of jobs tend to have plenty of spare time for ‘activism.’

    There is no part of the campus which is considered Redfern.
    Redfern is the closest railway station. The parts east of city Rd are in Darlington, those west of it are in Camperdown.
